Study Material for Needy Students

Since it’s inception in 2015, Bahujan Hitay Sangha, Nagpur has been active in supporting the needy students through regular contribution of textbooks, notebooks, uniforms and other requirements for pursuing education in schools and colleges. The Sangha has also helped students by paying their fees and buying them laptops etc. depending on the requirement of the Bahujan student. The Sangha also encourages drop out students to re-enroll into skill based studies like Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) courses etc. to make them self-reliant and independent.

Ration Distribution to Covid-19 Affected Poor

Due to the unprecedented lockdown for Covid-19, most Bahujan masses were left without any means of livelihood. Bahujan Hitay Sangh stepped in with dry ration packets and from March till end of May, Bahujan Hitay Sangh distributed over 450 ration packets. The members of the Sangha contributed with cash and kind and we were able to help all needy families who came to us and whom we sought out, based on our survey in the field.

Project SANCHIE for Girl’s Education

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s exhortation to us was to bring our rural brethren towards the cities and help them to grow in their educational, economic, social and moral prosperity. Bahujan Hitay Sangh has made this its objective and has launched Project SANCHIE , Slum Area Needy Children Help In Education. Project SANCHIE is another step by Bahujan Hitay Sangh to act as a bridge between the urban community and our rural and semi-urban population.

Project SAKSHAM for Women’s Empowerment

Bahujan Hitay Sangh, Nagpur has launched Project Saksham for women’s empowerment. In this project, the women will be taught tailoring and efforts will be taken to provide them with sewing machines. This is to impart skills to them to make them self-sufficient and to help them contribute to the family’s income and also, to give them a sense of power that comes through financial independence.
